When

Join us March 30th, 2026

4:30pm – 6:30pm

Ward Pavillion, Wildwood Metropark

Join Green Ribbon Initiative Committee members and partners for our 2026 Annual Meeting!

Featuring presentations from our committee chairs and updates on the NFWF Sustain Our Great Lakes II grant from our co-chair, Pete Blank.

New this year – GRI Community Charette!

The Green Ribbon Initiative would like to put funding directly in the hands of the community for projects that align with our priorities and mission statements – do you have a small project or idea that could use a helping hand from the GRI? Are there specific tools you need for a stewardship project? If your local preserve or conservancy was more like a library, what sort of things would you check out?

(An example: a mothing kit that includes a pop-up sheet, rechargeable UV light, and a moth identification book that would be free to check out to folks on the GRI landowner registry.)

Multiple projects may be approved – up to $5000 in funding available! Submissions due by Monday, March 23rd – project ideas will be discussed in break-out groups during the second portion of the annual meeting, so please plan on attending if you submit a project!

Our Mission Statement:

The Green Ribbon Initiative is a shared vision of public and private organizations, landowners, and individuals working to preserve enhance and restore critical natural areas in the Oak Openings region of Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan.
